Description

This course addresses issues in the valuation and pricing of real estate securities. Its primary objective is to combine the theory of finance with the practice in real estate capital markets to enable students to make investment decisions in a complex and changing market. Topics cover both residential and commercial securities, and include: mortgage prepayment and credit risk; debt securities; the analysis of real estate investment trust (REIT) vehicles; and the evolving regulatory environment.
