CCVIP FINAL UPDATE - 6/12/2019
Clients and Friends of CCVIP,
As you may know, CCVIP will no longer be connected to Baruch College. Instead of simply closing operations, a joint decision was made to support the transfer of the brand and services over to a trusted organization within the community.
Based on the thorough review by the CCVIP Advisory Board, discussions with CCVIP Staff, and input from the community, it is my pleasure to announce to you that Helen Keller Services for the Blind will be the new home of CCVIP.
I want to especially thank the CCVIP Advisory Board Members: Craig Wolfson, Matt Krieger, Nancy O’Connell, Iris Rosen, Marshall Tarley, and Philip So for their tireless effort in conducting due diligence: visiting and evaluating each of the excellent agencies which expressed an interest in CCVIP.
Starting July 1, whenever you go to Helen Keller Services for the Blind, you will be receiving the same professional and quality services offered at CCVIP.

CCVIP UPDATE 2 - 4/24/2019
Friends and Students of CCVIP,
As loyal supporters of CCVIP you need to know that every effort is being made to find a new partner: a home where you will find the same high quality classes, programs and services you have come to expect from CCVIP.
The CCVIP Advisory Board has steadfastly been working on all cylinders to find a new home and it is our intention to have an announcement with a new partner organization by the end of May.
In the discussions with these organizations the Board is conveying CCVIP’s special impact and uniqueness. The Board has additionally created a list of criteria upon which each group will be evaluated so that the needs of the community are met and exceeded.
When we sent the first notification of CCVIP’s closure, a number of you emailed us expressing your concern and why CCVIP was important in your life. We invite you take a minute now and send us an email. Tell us what you value most about CCVIP. Share your stories and celebrate what the community and CCVIP have accomplished together.
Wherever we go, we want to assure you that you will be receiving the same professional and quality service that CCVIP is known for.

CCVIP UPDATE 1 - 4/10/2019
After 40 years of service to the vision loss community, Baruch College has decided to close CCVIP as of June 30.
For those 40 years we have provided professional and quality training programs in assistive technology to help our clients with Microsoft Office, Social Media, iPhone/iPad and the Internet provided by a stellar training staff.
In addition we delivered Braille services and Web Usability Testing for cultural and religious groups, government, non-profits, and corporations.
All these services including our Demo Center Workshops, YouTube videos, and of course, our annual Conference on Visual Impairment and Employment were meant to help people with vision loss stay connected, engaged, and productive.
Important dates are
June 1 – No new students
June 7 – Final Braille work
June 18 – Classes cease
June 30 - Closure
In the meantime CCVIP will be looking at partners to pick up, continue and expand our work. If we find a partner, we definitely will inform you.
