Description

Designed primarily to assist students engaged in meeting the project requirement for the Master of Science degree. A real-life problem will be identified for study, and the scope of the work defined. Problems may be based on job-related experiences, the College environment, local hospitals, or the community at large. Discussions would include consulting and presentation skills and creative problem-solving approaches. The faculty advisor will play the role of facilitator, suggesting ideas and problem-solving strategies but leaving responsibility for the final decisions to the student. The final product of the project will include both a written report and an oral presentation of the results at a faculty-student seminar. The successful completion of the project is required of all candidates for the MS degree in operations research.
