Description
The course is designed to develop a fundamental knowledge of effective publicity and promotional techniques for profit and nonprofit organizations. Students are given practice in conceptualizing, staging, and managing objective-oriented events and promotions and developing each aspect of the attendant publicity. Course topics include planning and conducting press conferences, placement procedures for guests or products on broadcast media, writing and disseminating news releases, feature articles and public relations films, and the preparation and use of sales promotion techniques for new product introductions. The course focuses on the roles of sales promotion and publicity as part of the marketing process.
