Description
This capstone course, in workshop format, provides each student the opportunity to produce an in-depth project: print or online journalism, a biography or extended profile, or a substantial work of creative writing, such as a series of short stories or a novella. Students will engage in a semester-long dialogue about writing strategies and participate in extensive research, reporting and writing activities culminating in the completion of their projects.Students expand their knowledge of journalism and creative writing through their work on individual projects, by receiving and providing feedback from and to other students, and through the active supervision, criticism and commentary provided by the instructor. (This course is cross-listed with ENG 4920. Students will receive credit for either JRN 4920 or ENG 3615. These courses may substitute for each other in the F-replacement policy.) This course may also be used as an elective within the English major and Tier III minor, but it cannot serve as
