Description
Supervised student teaching and internship in teaching the person with the handicapping condition of mental retardation. 225 hours of guided observation and supervised teaching of which 40 will be in teaching reading and techniques of teaching reading for those populations of persons with retarded mental development where such techniques are appropriate. The student will learn to design lessons, plan classroom activities, develop individualized instructional programs, and develop classroom management strategies in a school setting. The conferences are designed to assist the student to critically evaluate performance and to assist in the preparation and presentation of materials relevant to the teaching of the person with the handicapping condition of mental retardation.
