Social Movements and U.S. Politics

This course explores how social movements emerge and spread, the strategies they use to press their claims, and the impact they can have on policy outcomes. It also looks at how social movements deal with opposition from the government and other actors, and why social movements decline. Cases covered include social movements in the United States.
