Description
This course offers a systematic analysis of the concept of rights and the concept of property in the interrelated fields of legal, political, and moral philosophy. Topics covered by the course include the Hohfeldian analysis of rights, the will and the interest theories of rights, the relation between rights, values, and norms, the ‘bundle of rights’ theory of property, the concept of ownership, the justifications of private property rights, and the theoretical scope and practical limits of defensible property regimes.
