Description

This course is an intensive study of some of the major works of American literature focusing on the experiences of mixed-race people. The course may concentrate on literature about blackwhite biraciality or on literature about a different mixed-race demographic, depending on the instructor. Possible authors include Charles Chesnutt, James Weldon Johnson, Nella Larsen, Jean Toomer, Philip Roth, Danzy Senna, and Barack Obama.
