This course combines rhetorical, critical, and cultural approaches to the study of social media, with a particular focus on concerns about power that are shared by communication scholars; media, policy, and technology journalists and professionals; and the public at large. In doing so, we will examine the economic structure, sociocultural dynamics, and political implications of prominent social networking platforms.
