Description
This course examines the Latino presence in the US, from its origins in the sixteenth century to the present day. Through readings, lectures, film, research and discussions, we will study the development of Latino communities throughout the US, their cultural expressions and traditions, and their contribution toAmerican society. Other topics include language, individual and collective identity, media representation, migration patterns, and their increasing political and economic impact.
