Description
This course provides an introduction to biological principles of homeostasis and cellular and organ system structure and function, with particular focus on the human organism. Classes are organized to coincide with hands-on laboratory exercises of BIO 1012, which is a co-requisite. Recitationsinclude discussions of articles from areas of current research interest. Grades are based on exams and written assignments related to articles discussed in recitation. Co-requisite: BIO 1012, unless transfer student has already satisfied requirement in the Life and Physical Sciences category of the Pathways core.(Not open to students who have completed BIO 1005 or BIO 2010. Students who plan to major in Biological Sciences are advised to take BIO 2010 and BIO 3001.)
