Description

This class explores the physics behind planetary science, stellar processes, galactic dynamics and modern cosmology, as well as the techniques for making astronomical observations. The central ideas are demonstrated by both laboratory experiments and astronomical observations. Students give an oral presentation and submit a written essay on a particular topic in the subject area.This course may serve as the capstone for the Tier III minor In Natural Sciences.
