In addition to examining literary techniques, themes, and motifs, it investigates sociopolitical as well as racial and gender issues pertinent to the countries in which the literature was written. Authors may include Carlos Fuentes, Gabriel Garca Marquez, Isabel Allende, and Mario Vargas Llosa.
