The basic demographic variables of birth rate, death rate, and migration will be discussed in relation to various sociocultural factors. Class projects will include such exercises as a projection of population, space, and food production trends in the United States and the world, to give the student first-hand experience with problems relating to birth control, urban planning, and other similar programs.
