Overview
Description
Consideration of a wide variety of modeling methods for mathematical programming applications. Topics will include models for linear programming, pure and generalized networks, integer programming, nonlinear programming, and dynamic programming. A wide variety of applications will be discussed, including manufacturing, distribution, scheduling, and financial decision problems. Although emphasis is placed on model development and applications, algorithms will be discussed from both a conceptual and a comparative point of view. The assignments will include model development, software implementation, written reports, and oral presentations.
