Description
Intended to help managers deal with issues in modern production planning by exposing them to the analytical and practical approaches that are finding increased acceptance in industry. Major areas to be treated include demand management, capacity planning, production scheduling, shop floor control systems, OPT synchronization, Just-In-Time concepts, Material Requirements Planning (MRP I), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II). Emphasis will be placed on assessing the proper use and fit of these tools to actual systems in an organizational environment.
