Overview
Description
Study of varied legal subjects bearing upon the computer industry. Computers and computer-related contracts will be studied with an emphasis on applicable laws, pitfalls, and contract terms. Liabilities will be covered, including theories of negligence and strict liability. Computer crime will be analyzed, along with problems of privacy and defamation. Some evidentiary issues will be addressed as they relate to computer-generated evidence. Finally, protection of software and other computer programs will be discussed, including copyright, trade secrecy, and applicable laws.
