Description

This course examines the cultural, social, and political impact of the spread of African peoples throughout the world and links Africa and its descendants to the historical development of other areas around the globe. The class focuses primarily on the African diaspora in the Atlantic world, but it will also consider the impact of the diaspora in the regions bordering the Mediterranean and Indian Oceans. This course is cross- listed as BLS 3063. Students may receive credit for either HIS 3063 or BLS 3063, not both. These courses may not substitute for each other in the F grade replacement policy.
