Description
This course offers students a basic understanding of mass media law as it pertains to the business journalist and, in doing so, an understanding of ethical issues that journalists must confront in reporting the news. The material includes the development of First Amendment media law, including prior restraints, libel, privacy, reporters' privilege, access to courts and to government information and government regulation of electronic speech.
