This course provides the student with a broad appreciation of the traditions and methodology of economic administration of capitalism enterprise as a context for the technical Economics and Finance curriculum. This course examines the historic background of Managerial Capitalism and the related economic thought. This course will view Managerial Capitalism through the lens of the American historical development. Students will be expected to present and discuss readings and cases concerning evolving Managerial Capitalism from the origins of the United States through the present. It will be geared to students with an adequate background in economics and an appreciation of American history, and is designed to further their skills and knowledge in integrating economics and finance into their portfolio of analytical and presentation skills.
