Overview
Description
This course investigates the cultural, social, and political impact of the spread of African peoples thoughout the world and links Africa and its descendents to the historical development of other areas around the globe. The course focuses primarily on the African diaspora in the Atlantic world, but it will also consider the impact of the diaspora in the regions bordering the Mediterranean and Indian Oceans. Cross-Listed in the Department of History. Student will receive credit for either BLS or HIS, not for both.
